The Doagh Holestone

Description
This prehistoric slab of basalt features a prominent circular hole. It is famous in Northern Irish folklore as a traditional site for betrothals and marriages. Couples pledge their troth by clasping hands through the hole. Local legend dictates that a vow made through the Doagh Holestone is unbreakable, and that a woman who passes her hand through the stone will experience safe childbirth.
