Description
A superb example from the famous Aberdeen March Stones trail, which evolved from natural geographic features into a highly systematic network of inscribed boundary stones ringing the Scottish city's periphery. Stone 22, located near Westfield Farm, replaced an earlier rudimentary marker in 1790. It is a small rectangular block inscribed with "22 ABD" and historically marked the absolute extent of the town's lands and civic authority, ensuring the city's borders were remembered and respected during traditional ceremonial perambulations.
