Description
Situated in Lake Goldajärvi in the Arctic wilderness, this yellow, conical concrete monument marks the northernmost international tripoint in the world, where the borders of Sweden, Norway, and Finland converge. Established initially as a stone cairn in 1897 following boundary treaties between Norway and Russia (administering Finland), the current monument was completed in 1926.
